- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. cake flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped hickory nuts
- 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions

1Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy.

2Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

3Add with milk to creamed mixture.

4Beat until smooth.

5Fold in nuts and egg whites.

6Pour into 2 greased 8-inch square pans.

7Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. Cool and frost with sweetened whipped cream.

8Sprinkle some chopped hickory nuts over top.
