- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine plus 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 c. rolled oats
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine milk, chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons butter.

2Heat over hot water until melted.

3Stir in nuts and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.

4Set aside.

5Cream 1 cup of butter and sugar.

6Stir in remaining ingredients.

7Press 2/3 of mixture in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

8Top with chocolate filling.

9Sprinkle remaining oatmeal mixture over top and more chopped nuts, if desired.

10Bake at 350°

11for 25 minutes until golden brown.

12Cut into bars while warm.
