- 2 c. raisins
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. black walnuts or pecans
Directions

1Combine raisins, soda and boiling water and cover and place in refrigerator overnight.

2The next day, add the salad oil, sugar, salt, eggs, flour and nuts.

3Grease 3 (1 pound) coffee cans or 9 soup cans real well.

4Divide batter evenly (1/2 can full is about right).

5Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

6Store one week in refrigerator before eating (if you can wait that long!).
