- 18 or 20 large pickles
- 1/2 c. salt
- 1 qt. sliced onions
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. celery seed or celery salt
- 2 heaping Tbsp. flour
- 1 pt. vinegar
Directions

1Peel and chunk the pickles, measuring 4 quarts.

2Soak for 3 hours in salt and ice water or cubes to cover, then drain.

3Add onions and put in large kettle to boil; mix well.

4Mix together remaining ingredients and pour this over pickles.

5Boil good for 10 minutes.

6After it has started a good boil, stir so it doesn't scorch and can while hot.

7Makes about 7 pints.
