  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Blend flour and shortening together.

    Add buttermilk; stir well.

    Put dough mixture on a floured surface; knead 2 or 3 times. Cut biscuits with biscuit cutter or a cup.

    Place biscuits on a greased pan; put a little melted shortening on top of biscuit. Bake at 400° until golden brown.

    Remember, all ovens cook differently.
