- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup shortening or 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425.

2Mix first 5 ingredients with a pastry blender or 2 knives until the size of small peas.

3Stir in the buttermilk.

4Knead for a couple of minutes on a lightly floured surface.

5Roll or pat out dough for biscuits.

6Bake for 10-15 minutes until lightly browned.
