- 5 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 pkg. yeast
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Sift flour and sugar together. Cut in shortening.

3Add yeast and water and stir until elastic-like strands form.

4Place dough in greased bowl and cover.

5Let rise until doubled in bulk.

6To shape, place dough on well floured surface, smooth and shape.

7Place in greased pan, cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.

8Bake in preheated oven at 300° for about 25 to 30 minutes.
