- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 egg, unbeaten
- 1 tsp. melted shortening or oil
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Combine dry ingredients.

3Add milk, egg, melted shortening or oil and mix well.

4Pour immediately into well-greased 6-inch square pan and bake at 425° for 25 to 30 minutes.

5Yields 9 (2-inch) cornbread squares.
