Honey Bran Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1 c. warm water
  • 1 c. All-Bran
  • 3/4 c. boiling water
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 5 1/2 to 6 c. flour

Directions

    Mix All-Bran, shortening and boiling water and allow shortening to melt.

    In separate bowl, beat well the eggs, honey, salt and soda.

    Combine all ingredients and add flour.

    let rise in bowl 1 1/2 hours.

    Place in 2 large or 3 medium greased loaf pans and let rise for 1 hour.

    Bake at 350°, medium loaves for approximately 30 minutes and large loaves for about 40 minutes.
