- 8 slices bacon, diced
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen black-eyed peas or 1 lb. can, drained
- dash of pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/3 c. quick cooking rice
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- Worcestershire to taste
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 c. chopped onion (about 1 medium to large)
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/3 c. long grain rice
- 2 1/4 c. water
- 3/4 c. lentils
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1Coat a heavy saucepan with oil; add onions and cook over medium heat, stirring often, until onions are softened.

2Add garlic and rice, stirring to coat rice with oil.

3Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes, or until rice is opaque.

4Add water, lentils, salt and pepper.
