Ingredients

  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. Crisco, melted
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 5 c. all-purpose flour (add more if needed)

Directions

    Put warm water into a bowl; add egg, salt, Crisco and sugar and dissolve well.

    Make sure mixture is warm.

    Add yeast that has been dissolved in the warm water for about 3 minutes.

    Add flour a small amount at a time; mix well.

    Let set 5 minutes.

    Put on floured board or table on wax paper and knead.

    Make into rolls; let rise about 25 to 30 minutes.

    Bake at 400° for about 15 minutes or until done.

    Brush with melted butter.
