- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 c. real warm (not hot) water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. melted shortening (Crisco)
- 2 eggs
- 7 to 8 c. flour
Directions

1In a large bowl, dissolve dry yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar and salt.

3Beat and add shortening.

4Then add eggs and mix well. Add flour, 2 cups at a time.

5I use 7 1/2 cups.

6Mix well.

7I use mixer, up to 4 cups, then mix the rest with my hands.

8Do not knead.

9Put into large, greased bowl and let rise, about 3 hours. I cover my bowl with a tea towel dampened with warm water.

10It keeps the dough from getting dry on top.
