Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. milk, scalded
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 Tbsp. melted shortening/oil

Directions

    Stir yeast, sugar, salt and warm water in a bowl.

    Cool scalded milk to lukewarm and add to mixture.

    Add 1 cup of flour, 1 beaten egg and the melted shortening.

    Beat together.

    Add 2 cups of flour and beat.

    Let rise until double in bulk.

    Punch down and make into rolls.

    Let rise again.

    Bake in hot oven at about 375°.
