Ice in Drink Bottle

10 steps

Ingredients

  • 200 -300 ml water
  • water
  • water

Directions

  1. 1
Carefully place water in the bottom of a 600mL/1 pint/ 20 oz plastic bottle.
  2. 2
It is important a this stage to ensure the water is not placed in the top of the bottle except insofar as to pass through it into the bottom.
  3. 3
Place the uncapped bottle upright or on a slight angle in the FREEZER part of your 'fridge.
  4. 4
Ensure that the angle of the bottle to the horizontal is at least 70 degrees or else the water may attempt to remain at the top of the bottle.
  5. 5
This is never a good thing.
  6. 6
Leave overnight (or longer if your ridgy-didge is pretty weak).
  7. 7
When the water no longer attempts to reach the top of the bottle, no matter how much you move it (the bottle, not the water - otherwise it is clearly not ready), it is ready.
  8. 8
Carefully place more water in the bottle, allowing it to reach the top this time.
  9. 9
Close cap on bottle and wrap in your daggiest tea towel.
  10. 10
Tip: You can top up the runny water when it runs out but only if there is still some non-runny water in the bottle.
