Icebox Fruit Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 c. whole milk
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 1 1/2 c. seedless dark raisins
  • 4 c. chopped pecans
  • 8 oz. dry coconut
  • 12 oz. crystallized fruit, chopped
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice

Directions

    Melt in top of a double boiler, marshmallows and add milk. In a large bowl crumble vanilla wafers.

    (Save inside wrapper and box to pack cake in.)

    Pour marshmallow and milk mixture over vanilla wafer crumbs.

    Add other ingredients, crushing and packing together.

    Place ingredients inside the wrapper and tape to hold closed.

    Place bag inside box and press firmly until bag conforms to shape of box.

    Tape box to seal in flavor.

    Place in refrigerator for 2 weeks before serving.
