  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 2 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. hot water
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, and molasses. Add soda and buttermilk alternately with flour.

    Store in refrigerator until needed.
