- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. soft shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. lukewarm mashed potatoes
- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
Directions

1Measure the warm (not hot) water into mixing bowl.

2Add yeast and stir to dissolve.

3Stir in sugar, salt, shortening, eggs, flour and mashed potatoes, mixing well.

4Turn mixture onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic.

5Place in greased bowl, greasing top of dough.

6Cover with damp cloth to store in refrigerator for use as needed.
