  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water
  • enough flour to make dough knead well (5 or 6 c.)

    at least to top of cup, higher is okay.

    Setting cup in cereal bowl of warm water will help it rise faster.

    It rises in 15 minutes or so.
