Ingredients

  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cakes compressed yeast
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 6 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Pour boiling water over shortening; add sugar and salt.

    Blend and cool.

    Add eggs.

    Let stand in cold water 5 minutes, then add to mixture.

    Blend well.

    Cover and refrigerate.

    Make into rolls 1 or 2 hours before baking at 350° for 20 minutes.

    Dough keeps 10 days in refrigerator.
