- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 stick butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Put 1/2 cup of the sugar in iron skillet over low heat.

2In sauce pan, mix remaining 2 cups of sugar, milk, butter, and egg. Stir mixture over low heat until butter melts then increase heat and boil rapidly.

3Take sugar that is in iron skillet melted and pour in other mixture.

4Stir fast and constantly.

5Cook until soft ball stage.

6Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla.

7Beat well and spread on cake.
