- 2 c. milk
- 1/3 c. yellow corn meal
- 3 Tbsp. dark molasses
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. raisins
- soft vanilla ice cream
Directions

1Scald 1 cup milk in top of double boiler over direct heat; slowly shake in the corn meal, stirring until the mixture begins to boil.

2Set the pan over boiling water; cook for about 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

3Add the molasses, sugar, butter and seasoning.

4Add raisins; mix well.

5Pour milk over top.

6Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

7Serve with softened ice cream as a sauce.
