Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. green tomatoes
  • 3 red peppers
  • 3 green peppers
  • 6 medium onions
  • 2 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 cabbage
  • 3 qt. vinegar
  • 1 c. salt
  • 7 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. whole cloves
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon

    Use meat grinder and grind up fine tomatoes, red peppers, green peppers, cabbage and onions.

    Add salt; set overnight.

    In the morning, drain ground vegetables.

    Add sugar, vinegar, mustard seed and celery seed.

    Make a bag from a clean handy wipe and add 1 tablespoon whole cloves and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.

    Use a twist tie to hold.

    Cook over medium heat for 1 1/2 hours.

    Pour mixture into hot, sterile jars and seal.

    Yields about 7 quarts.
