Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 3 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 2 c. peeled apples, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. mashed potatoes
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli, cooked and drained
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

    Blend beef and pork in a bowl.

    Add next 6 ingredients; mix to blend.

    Stir in apples.

    Shape into loaf on jelly roll pan.

    Bake in preheated 350° oven for 45 minutes.

    Drain off excess fat. Combine potatoes and broccoli; frost loaf with potato mixture. Sprinkle top with Cheddar cheese.

    Bake 15 minutes longer.

    Let stand about 5 minutes before removing to warmed platter.
