Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lamb lbs., cut into bite size pieces
  • 8 pieces potatoes chopped
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups burgundy
  • 4 cups chicken consomme
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 pound mushrooms
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 piece onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic
  • sliced ham 1 lg., cut into bite size pieces
  • bay leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dillweed and dillseed

Directions

    Rub venison with salt and pepper. Saute in butter in skillet. Add onion, garlic, ham, bay leaves and thyme; mix well. Cook until onion is translucent.

    Sprinkle flour in bottom of skillet. Brown well. Stir in wine. Simmer for 10 minutes.

    Stir in consomme. Stir in potatoes and lemon rind and mushrooms. Remove bay leaves. Simmer for 30 minutes or longer.
