Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 lb. beef roast
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/8 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 large or 2 small onions
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. ???

Directions

    Salt and pepper meat; brown on all sides under broiler or in frying pan on stove.

    I use a crock-pot now and after browning the meat, add all ingredients and cook all day.

    It can be baked in oven at 350° for 30 minutes per 1 pound also.

    Cool after cooking. Slice very thin and return to juices.
