- 4 to 5 lb. beef roast
- 2 c. water
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/8 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 large or 2 small onions
- 1/4 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. ???
Directions

1Salt and pepper meat; brown on all sides under broiler or in frying pan on stove.

2I use a crock-pot now and after browning the meat, add all ingredients and cook all day.

3It can be baked in oven at 350° for 30 minutes per 1 pound also.

4Cool after cooking. Slice very thin and return to juices.
