- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 5 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. pecans
- 3 1/2 oz. flake coconut
Directions

1Mix margarine, Crisco, sugar and egg yolks; beat until fluffy. Add flour, soda and buttermilk alternately.

2Add coconut, pecans and vanilla.

3Beat egg whites until fluffy.

4Fold into mixture. Pour into three 8-inch greased and floured cake pans.

5Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
