Ingredients

  • 16 c. tomatoes, chopped (may use canned or frozen; a No. 10 can of tomatoes will make about 8 pt.)
  • 4 c. onions, chopped
  • 2 1/2 c. jalapenos, chopped
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • garlic powder to taste

Directions

    Mix together all ingredients and cook, uncovered, for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

    (The amount of jalapenos may be varied to taste.)

    Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

    Pour into hot jars and water bath 35 minutes.

    Makes 8 to 10 pints.
