Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 pt. blackberry jam
  • 1 box raisins

    Cream together butter and sugar.

    Put soda in buttermilk. Sift dry ingredients together, adding alternately with the buttermilk.

    Add eggs; blend and fold in jam and raisins.

    Bake in 10-inch tube pan at 350° for about 1 or 1 1/2 hours according to your oven.

    Test with toothpick.

    I always line my pan with greased brown paper sack.
