  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 c. jam
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. nuts (choice)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream sugar and margarine.

    Add beaten eggs, jam and buttermilk; beat well.

    Sift together all dry ingredients.

    Add to mixture.

    Add flavoring and nuts; stir to blend.

    Pour into a greased pan and bake about 1 1/2 hours or until done, in a 325° oven.
