- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. jam
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 c. sour cream
- 3 egg whites
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Beat in egg yolks and whites.

3Stir in jam.

4Re-sift flour with other dry ingredients.

5Add flour in about three parts alternately with sour cream.

6Beat batter after each addition until well blended.

7Bake cake in two greased 9-inch layer pans or 9-inch tube pan in moderate 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

8Ice as desired.
