  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. blackberry jam
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 3 egg whites

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat in egg yolks.

    Stir in jam.

    Mix flour with other dry ingredients.

    Add flour mixture in about 3 parts alternately with sour cream.

    Beat batter after each addition until well blended.

    Bake cake in two greased 9-inch pans at 350° for 25 to 40 minutes.
