- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1 c. raisins (eat)
- 1 c. jam
- 1 c. pecans
- 1 c. black walnuts
- 1 pkg. candied pineapple rings (2)
- 2 pkg. candied cherries (green and red) for color
- 1 c. dates
- 1/2 c. figs

5Add well beaten eggs.

9Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add to flour mixture.

10Put raisins, nuts, candied fruits, figs and dates in flour mixture.

12Bake approximately 2 hours at 250° (you might need to put a pan of water under bottom of cake to keep it from getting too hard).
