- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- favorite jam or jelly
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F Cream first five ingredients together, then add remaining three.

2Hand roll into 1 inch balls and place on greased baking sheet, keep 1/4 of dough to the side.

3Using your thumb or spoon make a depression in the balls then spoon in just enough jam to fill.

4Use remaining dough to make small tops to place over the jam.

5Bake 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown.
