  • 2 cups cooked ham,* cut in bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbs butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can (1 lb) stewed tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp thyme leaves, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce
  • 1 cup uncooked Carolina Extra Long Grain rice
  • *Or substitute 1 can (12 oz) luncheon meat
