Ingredients

  • 1 (29 oz.) can pork and beans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can each: pinto beans, kidney beans, French-style green beans, drained and Great Northern beans or navy beans
  • 1/2 bottle chili sauce or barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 4 to 6 strips bacon

Directions

    Saute bell pepper, onion and bacon.

    Add to beans.

    (If you use the barbecue sauce, you may add diced green chiles or 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.)

    Simmer for 30 minutes or cook on slow in a crock-pot for 4 to 6 hours.

    Good for pot luck dinners and picnics.
