- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. water
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 c. English walnuts or pecan halves
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.

2In a heavy 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, cook sugar, water, syrup, salt, allspice and cinnamon until mixture boils.

3Stir occasionally.

4Cook to firm, soft ball stage (235°) on a candy thermometer.

5Take off heat.

6Add nuts and vanilla.

7Stir until mixture begins to thicken and gets lighter in color.

8Pour into prepared jelly roll pan.

9Working quickly with 2 forks, separate nut halves, each one from the other.

10Cool completely.

11Store in airtight container.

12Makes about 1 pound.
