- 1 medium apple
- 46 oz. sauerkraut
- 12 slices bacon
- 1 medium size onion
- 1 heaping Tbsp. brown sugar
- 6 to 8 Tbsp. bacon grease
Directions

1Cut bacon into small pieces.

2Fry until crisp.

3Put sauerkraut into frypan.

4Dice apple and onion and add to sauerkraut. Bring to a simmer for 1 hour, adding water as it simmers.

5At this point, add the fried bacon, bacon grease and brown sugar.

6Simmer 1 hour. Always add water right from the start, and as you go along.

7This is important so that the Kapusta won't stick to bottom of pan and burn. Stir occasionally.
