  • 1 lb nopales, chopped
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 12 teaspoons salt
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 12 ounces cheese, grated
  • 4 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • cilantro, finely chopped

Directions

    In a pan, mix together the water, chopped nopal, garlic, and salt.

    Cook on stovetop over medium heat, approximately 8 minutes.

    Remove from heat and drain in a colander.

    Let cool for 15 minutes.

    In a bowl, mix the nopalitos with the tomatoes, cheese, and cilantro as desired.

    Divide into 6 portions and serve with tortillas and beans.
