Ingredients

  • 3 bunches fresh spinach (12 c.)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 c. matzo
  • 1 c. chicken stock
  • salt and pepper to taste

    Wash spinach thoroughly and cook in very little water (1 cup) for 5 minutes.

    Drain well and chop.

    Mix spinach with all ingredients except oil and set aside for 1/2 hour giving matzo meal time to absorb.

    Form in round balls, press between palms and fry.

    When patties are all fried, put in pan and cover over very low flame for 15 minutes with chicken stock.
