  • 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels
  • 2 tbsp canola, vegetable, or coconut oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

    Begin to make stovetop popcorn.

    When popping has almost subsided,remove pot from heat.

    Add suger and salt,then return to low heat 20 seconds, shaking 3 or 4 times.

    The suger should be just starting to melt and caramelize.

    Transfer popcorn to a large bowl and serve.

    Makes about 10 cups 4 servings .
