  • 1 lb. Crisco
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 yeast cakes or dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. warm milk

Directions

    Mix flour, salt, sugar and Crisco like pie dough.

    Dissolve yeast in warm milk, then mix egg yolks, yeast and vanilla in flour mixture with a little warm milk at a time.

    Use more flour if needed.

    Mix dough with hands until it doesn't stick.

    Put in refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

    Then roll out on pastry board a little at a time with flour and sugar on board.

    Cut in small squares and fill with prune nut filling.

    You can buy prune nut filling or you can make your own.

    Bake at 350° until brown.
