  • 3 c. fresh lemon peels (12 lemons)
  • 1 c. whole cloves
  • 1/2 c. whole allspice
  • 3 c. fresh orange peel (8 oranges)
  • 12 cinnamon sticks, halved

Directions

    Cut peels into thin strips and spread on baking sheet.

    Dry in oven set on lowest temperature until peel is dry and brittle, approximately 3 1/2 hours.

    Combine dried peel with spices and store in airtight jar.

    Add a large spoonful of mixture to a pan of water.

    Simmer over low heat.
