  • 2 quarts popped corn
  • 1 1/3 cups pecans, almonds or 1 1/3 cups walnuts
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup clear corn syrup

Directions

    Mix popped corn and nuts of choice in a large bowl.

    Combine sugar, butter, and syrup in a 2 quart sauce pan.

    Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally 10 to 15 minutes or until mixture turns a light caramel color (soft ball stage).

    Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.

    Pour over popped corn and nuts. Mix to coat well.

    Spread out on a buttered cookie sheet to dry, then break apart into small bite size pieces and enjoy!

    Makes about 2 pounds.
