  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (No. 303) can tomatoes (1 3/4 c.)
  • 26 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 c. Ricotta cheese or cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 lb. pkg. lasagne, cooked, drained and rinsed in cold water

Directions

    Cook meat until brown. Drain off excess fat.

    Add garlic, parsley, basil, salt, tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer for 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally. Combine Ricotta and Parmesan cheese. Add eggs, salt and pepper.

    To assemble lasagne, pour a thin layer of tomato sauce in bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Cover with a layer of lasagne.

    Lay half the Mozzarella over cheese.

    Spread a layer of tomato sauce over all. Repeat layers. Top with remaining lasagne and tomato sauce.
