  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. lean ground pork
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
  • 1 tsp. basil leaves
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 c. cottage or Ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 3 (4 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese
  • 12 oz. lasagna noodles
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    In skillet, cook meat until brown.

    Drain fat.

    Add tomatoes, sugar, tomato paste, garlic and spices.

    Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.

    Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
