  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 c. tomatoes
  • 2 c. tomato paste
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 6 to 8 strips lasagna
  • 8 oz. cottage cheese
  • 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

    Brown beef and onion.

    Add tomatoes (cut with grater), tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, sugar, garlic powder, pepper and oregano.

    Simmer, uncovered, for about 30 minutes.

    Meanwhile, cook lasagna in large saucepan; drain.

    In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan, spread about 1 cup sauce, then alternate layers of lasagna, sauce and cheeses, ending with sauce and cheeses.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes.
