Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 2 large cans tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomato paste
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Cook hamburger, onion, green pepper, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, eggs and mushrooms together in heavy pan for 3 hours, until thick.

    Prepare noodles as package directs; drain.

    In a 13 x 9-inch baking pan, arrange noodles, one layer at a time.

    Top with meat mixture, cottage cheese and Mozzarella cheese.

    Repeat layers.

    Sprinkle top with nutmeg.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
