Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 16 oz. tomato paste
  • 2/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 c. tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 lb. cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs

Directions

    Brown meat lightly in olive oil with garlic and onion; add tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.

    Bring to a boil and simmer covered 2 to 3 hours.

    Cook noodles in salted boiling water until tender.

    Drain noodles just before making.

    In a shallow baking dish, put a layer of noodles and a layer of meat mixture and layer of each kind of cheese.

    Repeat layers and top with Parmesan cheese.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 45 minutes.
