Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg. Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 large container small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • olive oil

Directions

    Cook noodles until tender.

    Brown beef in olive oil; drain all fat and place in a saucepan.

    Saute onions and garlic in olive oil; add to saucepan.

    Add Italian seasoning, tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomatoes and basil leaves to mixture.

    Bring to a boil. Cut heat to low and cook 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Layer noodles, meat sauce and cottage cheese.

    Put Mozzarella on top and bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.
