  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (12 oz.) box lasagna noodles
  • 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 slices Mozzarella cheese

Directions

    Sprinkle beef with next 5 ingredients.

    Brown in frying pan with onion.

    Drain grease drippings.

    Add tomato sauce, sugar and water.

    Bring to a boil.

    Cook, uncovered, on low heat until thick.

    Cook noodles as directed on box.

    In 2 pans, alternate layers of noodles, Parmesan, cottage cheeses and beef mixture. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

    Place slices of Mozzarella cheese on top of lasagna during last 5 minutes of baking time.
