- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 (12 oz.) box lasagna noodles
- 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 8 slices Mozzarella cheese
Directions

1Sprinkle beef with next 5 ingredients.

2Brown in frying pan with onion.

3Drain grease drippings.

4Add tomato sauce, sugar and water.

5Bring to a boil.

6Cook, uncovered, on low heat until thick.

7Cook noodles as directed on box.

8In 2 pans, alternate layers of noodles, Parmesan, cottage cheeses and beef mixture. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

9Place slices of Mozzarella cheese on top of lasagna during last 5 minutes of baking time.
